The Salt Company Conference is an annual gathering of Christian college ministries from across the United States.
I was part of this ministry personally growing up, worked for the ministry, and then returned to photograph this gathering twice after I moved across the states. It’s a delight for me to photograph something I connect with personally.
My goals when photographing faith gatherings?
Be respectful of worshippers. Their identity and emotions are vulnerable in this sacred space.
Create great marketing images for the organization that hired me. I’m mindful of composing photos to use for social media, website, and print promotions.
Capture the true feeling. The energy is electric here. I try to capture both the big waves of the group’s expression and the small, personal moments that hide in the forest.
