Sessions centered around your home helps your family relax into your true personalities. More documentary, less posed.
We will plan an activity your family loves doing together (making a meal, reading books, playing music, etc.) in addition to posed photos.
For some, family photos sound stressful and chaotic. My hope is that our time together is filled with connection and celebration of your family: individually and together.
There's certainly nothing wrong with family photos in a state park field. But your home holds something unique.

It’s my honor to behold the story of your home and family.
My heart aches to say goodbye. I am comforted knowing that we will not forget this tenderness. It is well documented in our newborn photos, with each of its arches and doorways as unique a marker as a fingerprint upon our memories.
This is the heart of Heritage Sessions. Whatever season you’re in - establishing, creating, remembering.
One perfect fall evening, I watched three generations play tag in the front yard of their historic 1920s corner lot. Sunlight streamed through the trees. A truly golden hour.
I wonder if this family was who the builder had in mind when they added picture rail to the crown molding or a porch with a full view of many years of sunrises, sunsets, and bottles of wine.
It’s not a stretch to imagine how long this home has held their family memories. How many games of tag have been played in this front yard? Was there the same joy-filled chase when their daughter grew up here, many decades ago?

Now as a new mom, one year later, I’m walking the same journey. Josiah and I are moving out of the home we brought our baby boy home to and into one where he will establish his first memories.
Our move marks the end of newborn days. Of a deep green nursery where we dreamed. Of my nosey, cozy nursing couch spot beside the living room window. Of snowy days before he could roll or any of us could stay awake longer than 45 minutes.
This move is more tender than I expected.
